Sexual violence. "Bedos born before shame": feminists cover the facade of the actor's publisher

Activists from the feminist collective #Noustoutes sprayed paint and pasted messages on the facade of the Observatoire publishing house in Paris on Friday morning to denounce the publication of a book by Nicolas Bedos, who was convicted of sexual assault in October.

The feminists also put up a portrait of the artist and pasted up posters reading: "Insulted victims, Bedos born before shame" and "Humans, tremble! Feminists don't give up."

A book as repentance

Nicolas Bedos was sentenced in October 2024 to one year in prison, six months of which were suspended, for sexual assaults on two women in 2023. He decided not to appeal at the end of January "in an effort to calm the situation." The actor has since discussed his career before and after his conviction in interviews given on the occasion of the release, on May 7, of his book "La Soif de honte," published by Éditions de l'Observatoire .

During the hearing, Nicolas Bedos denied being a "sexual aggressor" and spoke of a "blackout," admitting to alcohol problems and "a heavy kindness" when drunk.
